Review / Portfolio practice
Make strong work easier to assess
A few common portfolio problems make good architectural work harder to understand. Check these before you submit.
Missing context
State the project brief, your role and the design question near the start. A reviewer should not have to infer them from drawings alone.
Unclear authorship
For collaborative work, describe your own contribution accurately. Clear authorship helps a reader distinguish your decisions from the work of the wider team.
Weak sequence
Place relevant, strong work early. Arrange each project so the reader can follow the brief, design thinking, development and outcome.
Pages competing with the work
Small captions, crowded layouts and inconsistent hierarchy can make evidence difficult to assess. Remove material that distracts and give important drawings enough space.
